Danielle le Roux has been the winemaker at Rust en Vrede since 2021, having worked closely with former winemaker Coenie Snyman for five years before taking on the role.
Raised on her family’s farm in the Overberg, her agricultural roots naturally led her to viticulture, and she graduated with a BSc in Viticulture & Oenology from Stellenbosch University. After completing her studies, she broadened her experience through international harvests in Bergerac, Sonoma and Tuscany, before returning to South Africa to continue her winemaking journey.
Danielle gained experience at Fort Simon, Sentinel, Delheim, Lyngrove and Asara before joining the Guardian Peak team in 2018, where she also made the Donkiesbaai and Guardian Peak wines. A qualified Cape Wine Master, she is known for her grounded, collaborative approach and strong technical foundation, crafting wines that express both varietal character and terroir while continuing the estate’s long-standing winemaking philosophy.
