Growing up on a farm between Robertson and Bonnievale, Roux Conradie attended Hoër Landbouskool Boland, just outside Paarl.
Roux started working on the farm with his dad during the school holidays, where his love for agriculture began, particularly viticulture. Under the mentorship of his dad, a seasoned farmer, and his brother, a winemaker, Roux gained knowledge and experience. However, the source of his passion was and still is the land and the vines.
He started studying Viticulture and Horticulture in 2019 at the Elsenburg College, where he had the privilege of becoming the SRC (Student Representative Council) chairperson in 2021, which developed his leadership skills.
Roux joined Saronsberg Cellar as a viticulturist in August 2022.
In 2024, Roux made WineLand Media's 30 Under 30 list of 30 young professionals recognised for their contributions to the South African wine industry.
Roux can be best described as energetic, positive, and clear-headed during stressful times.
