Chef Annelie Badenhorst hails from the beautiful Otjiwarongo in Namibia. Annie’s training in classical French cooking at the Zevenwacht Chef School, combined with her love of comfort food, makes her the perfect fit for Benguela Cove’s Pop-up Restaurant.

Annie’s career has been very intertwined with that of our other Benguela Dining chefs, namely Executive Chef, Jean Delport at Benguela on Main and Executive Chef, Kelly-Anne Pietersen at Benguela Brasserie & Restaurant.

Annie met and worked with Kelly-Anne at all Things Culinary and thereafter at Sophia’s Restaurant at Morgenster Wine and Olive Estate. This continued friendship and professional working relationship has lead to Annie incorporating aspects of Kelly-Anne’s menu into account when creating her own dishes.

Annie’s professional relationship with Jean started when she met him whilst working at Equus Dine at Cavalli Stud and Wine Farm. When Jean left to join Benguela on Main, Annie joined the team too. Her other work experience includes several lodges in Namibia and Eikendal Vineyards’ restaurant.

What can one expect from Annelie’s kitchen?

Fresh local food, combining interesting flavours to create exciting contemporary and new dishes with a French flair that excite the senses.
