Tucked away just over the hills outside Stellenbosch, Asara was established in 1691, taking the farm’s history back to the earliest days of winemaking in the Cape.
The name Asara is derived from the names of the African gods of Earth, Sun and Sky - Astar, Asis and Asase - to express the harmony in nature’s elements which we endeavor to capture in our range of wines. This perfect union gives the wines from Asara their special character, and has led Asara Wine Estate to become known as a premium wine producer.
