Clear with a fresh greenness on the edges. An abundance of ripe tropical fruit such as passion fruit, grapefruit and black currant complemented by pineapple, yellow cling peaches, greener flavours of fig, and herbaceous notes that end with a flintiness. A full, well-balanced wine with beautiful sweet summer fruit, citrus and a delicate minerality.

Over two decades of producing this Estate wine, the wine is ever increasing in quality and becoming more consistent in expressing the terroir of the Helderberg Mountains. The 2018 vintage shows pure fruit and earthy notes complimented by classical pencil lead-like aromas and a typical dry tannin structure with a seamless balance to the finish. The vintage can be considered classical in style, with a tight tannin structure and fresh acidity. Being a drought vintage the stress on the vines was sure to create more concentrated grapes, packed with flavour and quality

This lively and fresh Chenin blanc shows prominent aromas of green apple, tropical fruit and litchi with underlying hints of oak and almonds. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and round with nuances of kumquat and guava. Its linear acidity enhances the wine’s freshness and enduring nish.

La Motte Syrah 2019

Syrah from Franschhoek contains a natural fruitiness that includes hard-pear and mulberry, complemented by the Durif which provides colour, texture and hints of plum. One of the shaded vineyard blocks yields black pepper spice, clearly noticeable on the palate. Wood flavours are well integrated and provide a creamy texture on the palate.
