Mercy Mwai-Ngugi

Mercy is the Restaurant Manager at NOBU at the One&Only Hotel in the V&A Waterfront was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. This proud mother of two came to Cape Town nine years ago to further her food and beverage studies at the International Hotel School. She received a certificate in Service in F&B Management and she is currently studying Front of House Management part-time.

Mercy views it as an honour to be nominated to represent One&Only Cape Town. Having worked at Nobu for five years, she says, “I have been fortunate enough to work with dedicated and enthusiastic wine professionals, especially Luvo Ntezo and Tinashe Nyamudoka. They have both ignited my newfound love of wine and encouraged me to take on wine as a career.”

Mercy has participated in the Cape Legends Interhotel Challenge in 2014 and reached the finalist stage in 2015.

Mercy is also on the Board of BLACC, launched in Oct 2016.
