Pieter-Niel Rossouw joined Durbanville Hills as cellarmaster in November 2023.

Pieter-Niel Rossouw, a seasoned winemaker and viticulturist, has been the cellarmaster of Durbanville Hills since November 2023. Previously, he worked at Darling Cellars for nine years as the chief winemaker and viticulturist.

Pieter-Niel grew up in the Bonnievale farming community and after matric studied Viticulture and Oenology at Elsenburg Agricultural College in Stellenbosch. He nurtured his knowledge during eight years of harvesting experiences in Portugal, Germany, and France, and prior to his tenure at Darling Cellars, he held winemaker and viticulturist positions at Mont du Toit Cellar, Laroche L'Avenir, and Wellington Wines.

Beyond the vineyards and cellars, Pieter-Niel Rossouw shares a joint passion for the ocean with his wife and two children. He enjoys spending his free time with his family at Pearly Beach, where they indulge in fishing, surfing, and deep-sea diving, and relish hearty dishes perfectly paired with exceptional wines.
