Joseph Tongai Dhafana is a sommelier, lover of good wine, winemaker, and proud dad, who enjoys simple things in life.

A qualified sommelier and wine and food judge, Joseph Tongai Dhafana is the founder and director of Mosi Wines and Spirits. He was part of Team SA, who won the 2015 South African Wine Tasting Championships and went to France with Jean Vincent Ridon to participate in the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships.

He is a passionate, skilled and hardworking sommelier with a lot of experience in food and beverage operations and hotel management. He has a natural love for wines and a talent and skill in wine tasting.

Joseph's past positions include head sommelier at La Colombe Restaurant in Cape Town, manager of the Royal Hotel, and sommelier of Bar Bar Black Sheep.

He passed the Michael Fridjhon Wine Judging Academy course in 2016.

Joseph is a former board member of BLACC (Black Cellar Club) and a former captain of Team Zim, who competed in the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships in 2017.

He won the 2019 Eat Out Wine Service Award and the 2021 Luxe Restaurant Wine Service Award.
