Kelly-Marie Jacobs, Stellenbosch BSc Viticulture and Oenology graduate, is now the assistant white winemaker at Adam Tas, Distell.

Kelly-Marie Jacobs, Stellenbosch BSc Viticulture and Oenology graduate, is now developing and training the young minds of future winemakers and viticulturists, at the Elsenburg Agricultural College, situated in Stellenbosch. She is currently a full time lecturer in the fields of Oenology and Wine Marketing. Having worked the past three years for Elsenburg, as the Cellar Technologist and Cellar Manager, she quickly discovered a calling and passion for wine education and cultivating an appreciation for the wine drinking experience.

“My purpose is to effectively and efficiently communicate the theoretical aspects of winemaking to my students; the objective is for them to understand and to be able to apply and adapt the chemistry of wine,to the practical spheres of winemaking.”

Kelly-Marie has a passion for people and thus naturally also gravitates to the topics of wine business, marketing and the influence of social media. In her spare time she enjoys to muse for a minute or two on the romance of winemaking,via her personal WordPressTMblog and InstagramTMaccount, both called The Wine Musings.
