With over 15 years of experience in the wine industry, Heinrich Bothman currently serves as export manager: Africa at Van Loveren Family Vineyards, where he leads market expansion and commercial growth across West, Central, and Sub-Saharan Africa. He joined the Van Loveren team in 2024 as junior sales manager: Africa, and was promoted to his current role in March 2026. His past experience includes roles as public relations officer at De Wetshof Estate, wine merchant and head sommelier at Rosendal Winery, and tasting room manager at Esona Boutique Wine Estate.
His professional expertise spans the full export value chain, including market entry strategy, distributor development, pricing architecture, logistics optimization, and long-term brand positioning in emerging and complex markets.
Heinrich is a certified Cape Sommelier, a UCT Graduate School of Business Business of Wine and WSET Level 3 graduate, and an active member of the Wine and Spirits Board. Passionate about fostering growth in scalable African wine markets, he is committed to translating strategic objectives into actionable frameworks that drive sustainable business success.
