Monique Demes is a serial visitor of wine farms, with a special affinity for a well-made Bordeaux. Having cut her teeth on box wine during her student days in Stellenbosch, she is now the proud owner of diligently trained palate. A self-confessed wine geek, she enjoys learning and reading about new trends, grapes, and winemaking methods in her spare time. She endeavours to find out if her birthdate was a good vintage year (1988), and believes that Champagne is exempt from the ‘No drinks before 5pm’ rule.
