“Growing up on a farm in the Western Cape, where the vineyards were my playground, was a certain path leading to winemaking. My inherent curiosity led me to wonderful places to discover and learn more about the global wine industry. I’ve done a few harvests around the globe, exploring Bordeaux varieties at Chateau Angélus in Saint-Émilion, and working harvests in Marlborough and Central Otago in New Zealand, learning more about Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. During my wine journey, I also worked as an assistant sommelier at Chef Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen’s Michelin star restaurant in Nice. Here I learned a lot about consumer behaviour and the importance of sommelier training. On the side, I'm busy developing my own wine brand which will soon be released."
