Mountain Oaks Winery

Mountain Oaks is a new winery, built on a very old established Cape Dutch Farm known as Eikenbosch, situated in the the beautiful Slanghoek valley. Vines have been grown here for decades, the deep alluvial soils, cold winters and heavy rainfalls create ideal conditions for the production of quality grapes, which we farm organically. High emphasis is placed on balance in the vineyards, to promote healthy vine development.

Ross Gower guides us on the winemaking side, his years of experience being so important, in our quest to make top quality wines. In the vineyards we have magnificent 40 years old blocks of Chenin Blanc, established Chardonnay and Pinotage, plus new plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Viognier and Mouverdre. Attention to detail and carefull planning are paying off, and we made our first wines in 2003. Our quest is to make quality wines that reflect the essence of our beautiful surroundings and environment.
