Enaleni Vineyards: About us

Previously part of the neighbouring Nagenoeg Estate, Enaleni was born in 2009 when Schalk Visser (one of the inspirational owners of Nagenoeg) gave a portion of his land to the workers living on the farm as part of a Black Economic Empowerment (BEE, WIETA and Fairtrade-accredited) project.

Today the owners and workers of Enaleni are passionate about producing excellent wines and have produced four wine varietals to date, namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay.

Seen as an empowered community of 46 individuals with some being fourth generation, 10 are still full-time workers on the farm.

The Enaleni journey has been partly funded by the South African government as well as by Schalk Visser himself as a token of appreciation and to uplift the farm working community of Enaleni.
