KLEINBOSCH WINES
The Kleinbosch range of varietal wines features the very best from five leading South African wine cellars. Wamakersvallei Wine Cellar, Wellington Wine Cellar, Bovlei Winery (Wellington), Riebeek Cellar (Swartland) and Boland Wine Cellars (Paarl), each a producer of fine wines in its own right, have joined forces to form Cape Coastal Vintners.

In June 2004 Cape Wine Cellars was bought by a new wine venture. Managed by management services company Strategy Partners, the new venture is known as Cape Coastal Vintners which will initially focus on developing markets in the United States and Europe. In addition to the marketing company, a production company known as Cape Coastal Vineyards has been established, under contract to supply wines of distinctive quality. This company will be chaired by Jannie Le Roux, Boland Wine Cellar chairman. 'A feature of this venture is that it has brought on board a major Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) shareholder', Le Roux said. Twenty six percent of the shareholding of Cape Coastal Vintners Holdings (Pty) Ltd is owned by the BEE investors.

From the grapes grown by more than 500 farmers in the Paarl and Swartland regions of South Africa and vinified by the five member cellars, our Master Blenders select only the best for the Kleinbosch range. Cultivars like Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinotage make up the core of the range, with Sauvignon Blanc to be added from the 2005 harvest.

Kleinbosch is the historic name for "bush vine", originating from the Dutch settlers who came to South Africa more than 300 years ago and settled in the area where the town of Wellington is situated today. The direct translation of "Kleinbosch" is "small bush", referring to the un-trellised bush vines, a common sight around the production regions of CCV.

Kleinbosch is marketed in South Africa and exported by Cape Coastal Vintners.
