Background

Chateau Libertas - a tradition of quality since 1932.

Chateau Libertas is one of South Africas top quality blended red wines. It was launched in 1932 and is one of the original South African red wines. It has a colourful past and a long tradition of quality and over the years it has won many local and international awards.
The sales of Chateau Libertas have grown steadily over the years and are now selling close to 1,5 million litres annually.

Chateau Libertas can be found on almost every restaurant wine list around South Africa, thereby reinforcing the wines prestige.

The overall packaging in a green claret bottle with an unusual, illuminated label, presents a nostalgic image of times when life was less complicated. There is also a French feel to the presentation, largely as a result of the use of the word "Chateau". Legally, no new brand may use the word "Chateau".

Chateau Libertas has a long tradition of quality and over the years it has won many local and international awards. Proof of its continued quality were the superiors awarded to many vintages.

The prices it fetches at the Nederburg Auction also confirm its reputation as a wine for the discerning wine drinker, as is the fact that it is a wine that wine lovers have in their cellars.

The regular selection by international panels of wine judges for the South African Airways wine list is further affirmation of quality.
