Background

The history of this wine farm can be traced back until the year of 1818. Originally named "Good Success", owned by Daniel Johannes van Ryneveld from Amsterdam (Netherlands), this vast farm extended to most of the catchment area in the valley enclosed by the Simonsberg, Kanonkop and Klapmutsberg. Later on it was divided into three farms: Warwick, De Goede Suces and the remainder of the farm Good Success, which was from 1895 until 1994 in the possession of the du Plessis family, until it was bought by the Laibach family.

Until the 1995 harvest the prized grapes of this 50 hectare Estate, situated in the Muldersvlei Bowl one of the prime red wine areas of South Africa, were sold in bulk to Nederburg in Paarl. The Good Success Farm was actually one of the eldest suppliers of Nederburg with grapes.

The new owners, the Laibach family from Germany, have built up a new state of the art cellar with a capacity of 250 tons including a underground wood maturation cellar, unique in shape at the Cape and have renamed the farm LAIBACH VINEYARDS. From the farm and the already famous jetty of the winery you have a magnificent view over the vineyards on Table Mountain.
