Background
Founded in 1948, Goudini is the oldest winery in the Goudini Valley.
Founded in 1948, Goudini is the oldest winery in the Goudini Valley. Less than an hour's drive from Cape Town enables visitors to experience the tranquillity and traditional hospitality of the farming community. In 1948 the first crop of 6 080 tons of grapes was received - today 18 farms deliver about 20 000 tons of grapes (about 16 million litres) to the cellar.
It is one of the very few places in the Western Cape to retain links with its Khoi heritage. The name Goudini comes from the Khoi words "kg'ou" and "dina" meaning "bitter honey", as it was believed that honey made from the flowers of the local Spoonwood trees are bitter.
Goudini Wines bottle and market an extensive range of wines including red, white, rosé and sparkling wine under the Goudini and Umfiki brands. Umfiki is the Xhosa word for "newcomer" and is a new addition to our range of products. These wines are available throughout South Africa and exported to other countries, including Germany, Belgium, Namibia and Mauritius.
Goudini Wines is the first supplier to release any wine in shrink-sleeve packaging in South Africa. View this unique
Brut Sparkling Wine

The charming Goudini Wine House, at the entrance towards the cellar, houses the winery's tasting venue. It also includes a coffee shop and is available for functions, conferences and caters for tour groups.
We are situated next to the Smalblaar River alongside the town of Rawsonville, in a picturesque valley surrounded by the Du Toitskloof, Hex River, Slanghoek and Langeberg Mountains.
We have the pleasure in inviting you to visit Goudini Wine Cellar where you can enjoy quality wines in a true Boland atmosphere.
