La Motte Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

The vineyards are trellised and planted on the first prominent slopes approximately 7 km from the False Bay coastline. Soils are a combination of weathered granite and shale, offering both proper drainage and water-holding capacity. Occasional coffee-stone gravel occurs throughout. Sustainable practices are followed, and the vineyards are managed to ensure good aeration and optimal light penetration. Destemming and sorting take place in the vineyard.

PALATE Lively and refreshing, with a vibrant balance of acidity and fruit creating a clean, elegant mouthfeel. Flavours of raspberry, cranberry, and fresh red berries follow through seamlessly, framed by zesty grapefruit notes. Six weeks of lees contact contribute subtle texture and structural finesse, leading to a long, refreshing finish with lingering hints of rose petal and Turkish delight.

This Syrah is a fine example of a wine made from vineyards grown under dry-farmed conditions. As is the case when using small berries, this wine shows a voluptuous bouquet and a rich aftertaste, leaving, you with much food for thought.
