Nederburg Double Barrel Reserve 2023

Think about meeting someone for the first time - and they shake your hand a little too firmly. That’s what this wine is like when it hits the tastebuds: bold, forthright with a solid muscular squeeze. Nothing is overplayed though, because there is more than enough rich, ripe, succulent fruit to counteract that power and structure from its oaking. Blueberry, blackberry, juicy cherries and then dried herbs, cocoa darkness and vibrant spice - all balance out the tannin and firm frame. Long and rewarding, it’ll do for a Tuesday night casual supper or a more serious dinner.

The Chamonix Troika has a deep ruby-mulberry colour on release, with scents that recall vanilla, blackberries, forest floor notes and tobacco spices. The wine is well structured; full, round and smooth on the palate with rich fruit and berry sensations, fine harmony and length of flavour.

Waterford Blanc de Blanc Cap Classique 2019

The wine shows a classic Blanc de Blancs gold with a string of pearl-like bubbles rising elegantly through the glass. Our Cap Classique is not rushed; it is a wine whose craft is patient and precise, accumulating a total of six years for its secondary fermentation. The nose opens with a rush of brioche, followed by rich apricot and stone fruit aromas underpinned by a subtle orange rind character that slowly becomes more prominent as the wine lingers in your glass. On the palate, a soft, integrated bubble captures attention, carrying flavours that follow seamlessly from the nose.
 
The wine’s balancing acidity provides vibrancy, harmonising with the nutty undertones that have developed over six years of yeast contact in the bottle. The extended maturation contributes to both texture and depth, with the mousse creating a refined creaminess. As the wine evolves under cork, it will continue to reveal layers of richness and complexity, the brioche and nutty elements taking centre stage in a finish that is both luxurious and enduring.

A bouquet of fresh strawberries, dried rose petal and dried herbs gives way to a dancing palate with zippy acidity and flavours of wild bramble with hints of all-spice that are perfectly balanced with a fine and supple tannin structure.
