Our pale pink 1682 Pinot Noir Méthode Cap Classique is fresh and savoury with aromas of wild strawberry sorbet, raspberry meringue, citrus blossom, dried herbs, toasted brioche and red candy apple. A delicate balance exists between the crisp acidity, chalky minerality and subtle creaminess that one finds on the palate. The fine effervescence seduces and delights the taste buds and brings the bouquet of pink grapefruit and wild berry to the forefront of the palate. On appearance, this wine is slightly brick red with a clear yet bright hue. The bouquet displays notes of savoury strawberry compote, aniseed and truffle; along with notes of leather and red cherry. The wine displays the natural tart acidity and grippy tannins of Nebbiolo, accompanied with hints of sour cherry, raspberry and tobacco leaf. The wine shows beautiful fruit and floral characters in youth.

The 2020 Catharina is bold yet suave, forthright yet subtle, assured and alluring. It displays volumes of basil and cedar, cassis and lavender blossom, cinnamon stick and dark chocolate. Layers of concentrated red and black fruit (raspberry, blackcurrant and black cherry) show on both the nose and the palate, accented with a full, smooth texture from the Cabernet Sauvignon component. Light herbal notes from the Merlot lend a refreshing finish, while the Malbec and Petit Verdot round out the blend, adding structure and depth. The creaminess on the palate is complemented by the subtle and refreshing acidity of the wine. There’s a salinity that carries through on the palate alongside restrained oak spiciness. Steenberg Semillon 2022

Steenberg Semillon 2022 is a beautiful pale gold colour. Aromas of apricot, cinnamon, dried pear and orange blossom greet you upon first inspection. There are also nectarine, dusty road and golden delicious notes. The palate shares much the same fruit profile as the nose though now with distinct custard and vanilla pod characteristics. Poised, weighted fruit concentrates the mid-palate, after which the wine broadens out with a rich, almost waxy texture and bright acidity. A citrus and floral spice lingers on the palate long after the last drop.
