Brookdale Twenty Field Blend 2024

Garrigue, lavender flowers and stemmy spice unfold, petal-like, each scent demanding its moment. Salted red plum, blueberry, mulberry emerge along a thrill of white pepper. Blood orange freshness opens the palate, ushering in red-fruited exuberance of cherries, strawberries, berries; an undertow of earthy pomegranate trailing to a tangy, saline finish. Energetic and coiled this will continue to develop for years to come.

Brookdale Bradbourne White Blend 2024

Lifted florals of jasmine, frangipani – the scent of white blooms on a summer night; waxy, heady. The evolving aromatic complexity undresses into peaches and cream, honeyed peach and quince, the softness of straw weaves through, refreshed with crushed lime-leaf brightness. Layered and lithe, the palate has real presence; vivid white grapefruit, white citrus purls around a deep core of stone fruit, the acidity, a silver-toned electricity, balancing the concentration of fruit. Lime washes in again at the finish, in its wake a faint grip of pithy fruit-tannin, which extends the length and refreshes the palate

Brookdale Chenin Blanc Old Vine 2023

The scent of gold; earthy, mineral yet charged with sun. Powerful, complex aromatics unwind; ripe citrus, fresh honey, orchard apples and pears, all pour forth with bay-leaf, lemonbuchu highlights. Underpinning this, roasted nuts, a line of cream. A concentrated yet fresh core of apple, pear, lime, is wrapped in silky ribbons of golden citrus tapering nutty and honeyed to the edges. The long line of liquid minerality weaves right through for a stony, vibrant finish, echoing with citrus.

Brookdale Mason Road Syrah 2023

Rich red fruit slips out the glass like silk and velvet made tangible. A veil of spicy, resinous twigs dissolves into mulberries, olive tapenade and a background chorus of night flowers. Dripping in ripe redcurrants, the palate is succulent and flows with a gentle, blood orange acidity. There’s a touch of cherry cola, whipped away in a cloud of fresh black pepper. Like the finest of fabrics barely-there svelte tannins seam to a well-balanced, and neatly dry finish.

Brookdale Mason Road GSM 2023

A cheeky cascade of brambleberries wreathed in smoke, contrasted with the gloomy mist of brine, the smack of sea. A rush of sappy red fruit; the pop of cinsault cherries, the summer plums of syrah, the wildness of mourvèdre. The richer blue-blood of the grenache veins right through the palate. The core of blackcurrant pastilles with a chew of tannins juxtaposes the juice of the acid. Absolutely running away with fruit and drinkability, this exuberance is trimmed in spice and a deftly dry finish.

A Provence-style rosé with a pale salmon pink colour. Fragrant notes of hibiscus, fynbos-spice and wild strawberries unspool on the nose. The palate is red-fruited and generous, plumped with raspberries, mulberries and sappy cherries; then lifted on the mid-palate with refreshing watermelon verve. Keenly balanced with a lemony acidity, all that beautiful, bright fruit is cradled in a fine-boned structure imbued from old oak ageing.
