Kleine Zalze Family Reserve Syrah 2021

A great example of what this cultivar is capable of in Stellenbosch. A fragrant fresh bouquet with lively fruits and hints of pepper. This wine is full-bodied with great depth balanced by an elegant velvety finish. The intense but finer tannins lend itself to a variety of meat-based dishes. This wine has great drinking capability at release but could benefit from careful cellaring for up to 10 years.

Colour: Lemon.
Aroma: Juicy plum & raspberry with floral notes of violets & hibiscus greet the senses. Earthy notes of mushroom and pencil shavings linger. 
Palate: The palate is met with fresh red berry notes that follow through from the nose, savouring with a smokey undertone. The tannins are fine and elegant, and the palate has a wonderful lingering presence

The Gypsy 2017

A very concentrated, focused blend with layers of deep fruit. The character is expectedly somewhat  “wild” a little brambly with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, dark spices, with vanilla scents and a distinct, concentrated red-fruit focus. Great for laying down and keeping for at least ten years but already rewarding if allowed to breathe in a decanter.
