La Motte Vin de Joie Rosé 2025

Salmon pink to onion skin in colour this rosé is typical Mediterranean in appearance. Slightly restrained but welldefined melon, grapefruit, and nectarine on the nose with a hint of sweet candy floss in the young wine. The palate is polished and juicy on entry with the medium acidity bringing freshness and length. A fresh nectarine aftertaste lingers on the palate.

The Gypsy 2017

A very concentrated, focused blend with layers of deep fruit. The character is expectedly somewhat  “wild” a little brambly with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon, dark spices, with vanilla scents and a distinct, concentrated red-fruit focus. Great for laying down and keeping for at least ten years but already rewarding if allowed to breathe in a decanter.

This is a very fragrant and delicate wine but with amazing concentration and depth of flavour. A bouquet of fresh strawberries, dried rose petal and dried herbs gives way to a dancing palate with zippy acidity and flavours of wild bramble with hints of all-spice that are perfectly balanced with a fine and supple tannin structure.

The nose shows a refined minerality, layered with stone fruit, melon, and delicate green olive leaf notes. Subtle citrus blossom and honeysuckle add aromatic lift to the wine. On the palate, the body reveals a flinty, focused character, with white peach and nectarine notes taking centre stage. The oak is integrated and gentle, bringing depth without overshadowing the fruit. La Motte Reserve Collection Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

The vineyards are trellised and planted on the first prominent slopes approximately 7 km from the False Bay coastline. Soils are a combination of weathered granite and shale, offering both proper drainage and water-holding capacity. Occasional coffee-stone gravel occurs throughout. Sustainable practices are followed, and the vineyards are managed to ensure good aeration and optimal light penetration. Destemming and sorting take place in the vineyard.
