A fresh, crisp, medium-bodied wine made in a New World style. Beautiful aromas like ripe passion fruit and granadilla burst out of the glass. A fun whiff of gooseberry also compliments the other fruity aromas. Delicious granadilla and gooseberry flavours together with Granny Smith apples impart a zesty and lengthy finish on the palate.

The wine displays a pale straw colour, typical of a bubbly that enjoyed the benefits of extended lees maturation. Beautiful aromas of lime, crisp apple with freshly baked pastry, and toasted almonds on the nose. The palate is bright and zippy with vibrant acidity and a soft, creamy mouthfeel.

Golden hued and full bodied, with melon and spicy baked apple aromas. Layered, with mineral notes enhanced by honeycomb and caramel flavours from lees contact. This wine is a great example of the harmonious balance which can be achieved between fruit and delicate oak/vanilla flavours, as they combine to form complex, soft flavours with sufficient body to enhance even spicy and full flavoured meals.

Nederburg Double Barrel Reserve 2023

Think about meeting someone for the first time - and they shake your hand a little too firmly. That’s what this wine is like when it hits the tastebuds: bold, forthright with a solid muscular squeeze. Nothing is overplayed though, because there is more than enough rich, ripe, succulent fruit to counteract that power and structure from its oaking. Blueberry, blackberry, juicy cherries and then dried herbs, cocoa darkness and vibrant spice - all balance out the tannin and firm frame. Long and rewarding, it’ll do for a Tuesday night casual supper or a more serious dinner.
