ageing : This wine certainly has the structure and tannin to age for 3 - 5 years.

in the vineyard : A blend of mostly dry land bush vines from the Paarl appellation.

in the cellar : The dominate variety is a rich, spicy shiraz, blended with pinotage – from much acclaimed Primo Pinotage vineyard. The blend also has a small quantity of mourvedre and a touch of viognier. An interesting version of the “Cape Blend”. The shiraz and viognier components are co-fermented. The mourvedre and pinotage are made and aged separately and blended at a late stage. The components are aged in a mixture of (French / American) oak ± 10% new, remainder 2nd – 4th fill. The mourvedre is aged in neutral oak ± 6th fill. Time in oak ± 14 months.
