Backsberg Elba 2003

A blend of Malbec – to enhance elegance and length – and some major red varieties associated with vineyards in close proximity to the Mediterranean – Syrah, Mourvedre and Sangiovese. Spicy, floral, potpourri and dark chocolate. A refreshing different blend. The finish is silky due to the addition of Viognier. These cultivars all have completely different characters but all add something special to the blend.

This wine is certainly complex and fairly easy to drink, although a food wine, matching pasta, pizza and other Mediterranean delicatessen.
