Shibula Merlot 2001

Shibula, The "Wild Lady" is a black Rhino that has known many homes. Rescued from Namibia and incarcerated in a European Zoo, she was re-rescued by a team of dedicated conservationists and returned to her rightful home in Africa. What makes her very special is that she became the world's first rhino to produce calves after her return to the wild. Shibula, a fierce and protective mother, is a vital ambassador for a critically endangered species and a tribute to conservation efforts around the world. The winemaker pays tribute to the spirit of conservation with this unique quality wine from vineyards nestled on the Southern slope of the coastal range of mountains.
