This maiden vintage Merlot 1997 reflects the farms growing commitment to producing top quality red wines to compliment their range of white wines.Produced in small quantities the Merlot 1997 was made from only 2 tonnes of grapes harvested from young, five-year old vines. An old basket press was used to crush the grapes which were fermented in suspended tanks. The wine was then transferred to 2nd fill oak barrels for a maturation period of 8 months.
