John Platter 2006 - 3 Stars
Veritas 2005 - Silver
The wine is vibrant crimson red in colour with rich aromas of plum and touches of white pepper and ginger. These flavours follow through on the mouthfilling, accessible palate and the wine has a lively, fresh finish.

ageing : Enjoy now or within 3 to 5 years from harvest.

in the vineyard : Proximity to ocean: 20 km
Annual rainfall: 930 mm
Soil: Glen Rosa and Clovelly
Average temperature: Summer: 20°C, Winter: 12.5°C
7 year-old trellised vines planted on south-facing slopes yielded the grapes for this wine. The vineyards received supplementary drip irrigation and produced 7 tons per hectare.

about the harvest: Grapes from selected vineyard blocks were handpicked at full ripeness.

in the cellar : Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks ensured optimum extraction of colour and fruit flavours. Following fermentation, the wine was transferred to oak barrels. Ten months’ maturation in a combination of French and American oak broadened the flavours and added complexity and finesse. The wines from selected barrels were then blended at a ratio of 89% Shiraz, 8% Mourvèdre and 3% Malbec.
