Fantail Vineyards Red 2003

The wine has ruby red colour. The nose shows dominant flavours of spices, lots of black cherries, meatiness and some violets. The palate is very smooth with a beautiful black fruit concentration in the mid-palate. The wine is still in its youth and may develop some secondary flavours like cigarbox and liquorice over time.

This wine will be a welcome companion at any occasion, barbecues, pizzaâ€™s, sun-downers and so forth.

in the cellar : This wine was matured in third fill French oak barrels for 12 months. This preserved the fruit flavour in the wine and allowed the tannins to soften due to oxidation through the wood staves.
