Ashanti Pinotage 2006

Colour: Deep Purple.
Nose: Rich mixed berry, spice and hints of dried banana.
Mouth: Smooth and velverty. Will benefit with extended maturation.
Ashanti wines are born of sun, air, rain and the Cape soil. Our logo, the 'Chiwara', is an ancient African symbol which represents the annual regeneration of life when these elements are in perfect harmony. A classic example of this uniquely South African varietal with a deep purplish colour. Luscious, velvety, with dense sweet berry flavours.

Best at 18°C. Chocolate mousse, roasts and serious poultry.

ageing : Enjoy now at optimum temperature of 18°C or within 3 to 4 years stored under ideal conditions.
in the vineyard : A warm and short harvest with well controlled management of the east facing low yielding vineyards, with no disease problems occuring. Spot irrigation was applied to assist in the ripening process and early morning picking assisted in receiving the grapes in the cellar at the best balance.
