Deep purple with ruby hue. Complex aromas of liquorice, blackberry and pepper with a fruit packed palate of violets, chocolate, black pepper and cassis with long fine seductive tannins and a complex berry finish.

ageing : Best drinking from 2006 - 2012.
in the vineyard : The vineyard locations seem tailor-made for flavourful grapes. The grapes grow in the Helderberg area; this area yields wines with an intensity of flavour not found in some of the more inland regions.
about the harvest: Hand selected bunches in vineyard; hand destemmed to 400 kg fermenters; hand plunged then basket pressed to barrel for malolactic fermentation and further 12 month maturation.
