The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes were selected from north and east-facing vineyards situated on decomposed granite and loamy soils. The Shiraz grapes were selected from west-facing vineyards on deep clay-loam soils.

about the harvest: The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested from 9 to 15 year old vineyards at 22.5Â° B - 24.9Â° Balling between 11th March and 7th April 2004 and the Merlot was harvested at 24Â° B - 24.6Â° Balling between 13th and 24th March 2004. The Shiraz was harvested on 24th March 2004 at 23.7Â° Balling.
