Napier Sir George Pot Stilled Brandy 2000

2007 Michelangelo International Wine Awards - Gold Medal
The brandy distilled from Chenin Blanc harvested off 35 year old vines and meticulously double distilled in 800ltr batches. 5 Year aging in French oak adds to the finishing touches. The barrels used are one new Limousine barrel with the balance made up of second and third fill barrels. A nice touch being added by hand filling and labelling.

AWARDS
2007 Michelangelo International Wine Awards - Gold Medal
in the cellar : Presentation: Elegant straight up clear bottle with no–nonsense labelling.

Alcohol Strength: 38%

Colour: Soft tawny gold

Nose: Zesty, fresh and young. Rather unfamiliar to a 5 year Brandy. Soft almonds (marzipan), dried apricot and oakiness with hints of honey coming off the rim of the glass

Taste: Amazingly soft and creamy smooth with fresh dried apricots and peaches, almonds (marzipan) and smoky oak. Going into a pleasant lingering aftertaste.

Serving suggestion: Does very well with still mineral water in a one on one dilution.

Production: 2600 bottles per annum.
