Bellingham The Maverick Wooded Sauvignon Blanc 2005

A dry, lightly wooded, lavish and full-bodied wine with a well-rounded mouthfeel that blossoms on the palate.
Winemaker’s Notes: “It’s all about the grapes, we just guide the process in the right direction. Vibrant colour with layer after layer of fruit…fig leaves, gooseberries and an earthy vanilla touch.

Savour with salmon, duck, rich saucy pastas, sushi and creamy risotto dishes.

in the vineyard : The terroir – soil and climate - in this region is unique. The close proximity to the sea cools the vineyards resulting in good colour and flavours.

about the harvest: The grapes were hand-picked from Sauvignon Blanc bush vines, growing in the Darling Region.

in the cellar : After bunches were hand sorted, only the free-run juice was used to make this wine. Wine spent 12 months on the lease and in
French Oak Barrels, first and second fill barrels were used. Bottle matured for 4 months before release.
