in the vineyard : Merlot vineyards from the Franschhoek estate planted on deep sloping granite soils. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vineyards from our Robertson Estate planted on coarse shale soils at the foot of the Rooiberg mountain and deep red Karoo soils.

about the harvest: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from our Robertson vineyards picked at optimum ripeness.

in the cellar : Fermented on the skins until dry. Stainless Steel for malolactic fermentation. 12 Months maturation in 2nd fill French oak at Robertson cellar. Merlot from our Franschhoek vineyards was fermented on the skins until dry and racked into barrels for malolactic fermentation. Matured for 12 months in 3rd fill barrels at Franschhoek cellar. After maturation the 2 varietals from the different cellars were cross blended for bottling.
