Freedom Road symbolises the hopes of millions of poverty-stricken South African farm workers. With the profits from the wine sales, houses will be built on land belonging to the workers, its ownership made possible by government grants to each worker family. The name ‘Freedom Road’ was inspired by Mandela’s autobiography ‘Long Walk to Freedom’.
