in the cellar : The flagship of Verdun’s Premium range of wines is named after one of the owner’s two daughters. It is a blend of the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, only the crème de la crème from our maturation program. The emphasis was on maturation potential when components were selected. The selection criteria was on basewines with structure, mouthfeel and the elegant qualities that make a wine like this special.

The two components of the blend were both picked at optimal ripeness having an excellent sugar, acid and pH ratio after a long cool ripening period on the vine. The wines underwent secondary fermentation in 100% new French oak for a period of 18 months. The final makeup of the blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot. This wine was allowed to further mellow in the bottle prior to release.
