Rozier Bay Chardonnay 2007

Vibrant straw yellow colour leads into aromas of orange groves in blossom with hints of honey. The palate opens wonderfully with honeycomb and a lively lemon zest note. This is followed by a long, lingering, balanced finish.

The fine qualities of this wine are perfectly complimented by smoked chicken salad or a mussel pot with heady garlic aromas. Also perfectly matched with South Africa’s local fish like Cob, Yellowtail and Cape Salmon.

in the vineyard : Chardonnay is today, truly the most international of all varietals. Its spiritual home is in Burgundy, France where it produces fabulous wines from specific terroir. The winemaking team at Mount Rozier is determined to find Chardonnay’s home terroir in the Cape.

about the harvest: We chose the best Chardonnay parcels we could lay our hands on from the Robertson and Stellenbosch region.

in the cellar : This unwooded Chardonnay is delightfully subtle and seamless, whilst the fruit displays ripeness and richness.
