Zevenwacht Rosé 2007

The wine has a delicate reddish pink colour reminiscent of dried rose petals. Emanating from the glass are wonderful red fruit flavours with dominant mulberry and ripe strawberry whiffs. On the palate, the wine reveals an initial nutty undertone with a perfect balance between fruit, sweetness and acidity. A delicious lifestyle wine packed with loads of ripe raspberry and strawberry aromas and flavours. Elegant and soft with an off-dry finish.

in the vineyard : These vineyards are dry land vineyards and are situated on lower more northern slopes of Zevenwacht. The decomposed granite soils include desirable clay elements that retain moisture during the drier months of ripening, yet, because of prominent gravel fractions, allow for excellent drainage.

about the harvest: The grapes are picked at full ripeness.

in the cellar : After harvesting the grapes are crushed and fermented like a white wine, no skin contact is applied. The delicate pink colour is derived from the red pigments that are released during the crushing process. The wine was fermented cold, 14° Celsius to retain fresh red fruit aromas.
