about the harvest: Assemblage of the best from each cuvée, using only traditional grape varieties (Pinot Noir & Chardonnay) that were hand picked in the cool of the night and early morning hours at the beginning of the harvest season.

in the cellar : Only the free run juice is used for this MCC product - ± the first 500 litres per ton.

Bottled in 2004, then bottle fermented and matured on the lees in our underground cellars after which, prior to dégorging, the bottles are packed in wooden pupitres (turning racks) and the rémuage (turning of the bottles) is done entirely by hand.

Nicolas Charles Krone is microbiologically stable, and a true celebration of the vintner's art. The newest star to the Krone constellation!

He was a pioneer of the South African Wine Industry, acknowledged locally & internationally. In 1971 awarded the prestigious title of Commandeur d'Honneur in France. A man of gentle strength, great wit, dry sense of humour, and so much wisdom. Loved by many & respected by all. 'Legend in his Lifetime' - which is why we honour his name on our Krone Prestige Cuvée MCC Sparkling Wine.
