Bouquet: Berry aromas such as raspberry and cherry abound with whiffs of vanilla oak in the background.
Taste: Rich and ripe with lashings of cherries and vanilla.

ageing : The wine is drinkable now but will improve with maturation for another 5-7 years.

in the vineyard : The grapes were sourced from vines planted in 1997 on north westerly facing slopes, situated at 120m above sea level. The vines are grafted onto Richter 110 nematode and Phylloxera resistant rootstock and grown in soils originating from decomposed granite. The vines are trellised on a fivewire hedge system and irrigated by means of an overhead sprinkler system.

about the harvest: The grapes were harvested by hand in March at 24,5° Balling and yielded 6 tons per hectare.

in the cellar : After destalking and crushing the mash was fermented with the chosen pure yeast culture NT50. Fermentation took place in rotation tanks at 28°C over seven days, hereafter the skins were pressed. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in French oak barrels for 14 months.
