Kleinbosch Chardonnay 2001

Bright and clear, a light straw colour with a tint of green. Citrus flavours, with slight oak overtones. Complex and dry, and a lingering aftertaste.

winemaker : Jeff Wedgwood & Team
wine of origin :
analysis : alc : 13.0 % vol  rs : 1.6 g/l  pH : 3.39  ta : 5.9 g/l

ageing : Optimum within 2 years of the declared vintage. The wine will soften and acquire buttery flavours with bottle maturation.

in the cellar : Chardonnay is made from juice extracted in bag presses with minimum pressure, in order to maximise purity. The juice is allowed to ferment dry under temperature controlled conditions, and is left on the lees until the wine is prepared for bottling, to extract maximum flavour. Having been lightly oaked, the result is a well balanced wine with complexity.
