Muratie 1763 Methode Cap Classique 2007

The wine shows crisp apples followed by biscuit flavours. The Pinot Noir supports the Chardonnay by giving the wine a fuller, more rounded structure. Small bubbles and a fine mousse caress the tongue, a great achievement for the first ever Cap Classique on Muratie. The wine dazzles with a gorgeous gold tint.

in the vineyard : Our very first Cap Classique, brainchild of Dr. Rijk Melck, brought to life by Francois Conradie! Steeped in history and tradition, the world-renowned Muratie Estate has long been home to some of the Cape's most illustrious families. In 1763, Martin Melck bought this gracious wine farm for his daughter. Over the centuries, Muratie changed hands a number of times and finally, in 1987, Ronnie Melck welcomed Muratie back into the family fold, rekindling a centuries old love affair with the Estate.

about the harvest: This MCC is made from a blend of Chardonnay (71%) and Pinot Noir (29%). The grapes were harvested between 18.5° and 19.5° B.
