A traditional Portuges grape variety that make-up a part of the port blends. There is an international trend to produce red wines from this variety, along with Touriga Nacional. This is a full-bodied wine, characterised by drinkablility at a young age, yet with potential
to age. Peppery fruit, bramble flavors with dusty tannins.
This fruit-forward wine lightly chilled accompanied with fresh salsa (finely chopped red onion, fresh parsley & coriander, a freshly squeezed lime and two or more beef tomatoes, a generous splash of extra virgin olive oil and sea salt and black pepper to taste) and a traditional Mexican burrito. Alternatively best accompanied with hearty roast dishes, poultry and pastas.
