in the vineyard : Terroir
Pinotage: The vines are planted on the highest South-east slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain, about 700m above sea-level on wethered granite soil.

Cabernet Sauvignon: The vines are planted on the lower North-west slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain, on mixed soil - wethered granite soil and clay.

Shiraz: The vines are planted on the lower North-east slopes of the Paardeberg Mountain in deep glenrosa-scali type soil.

Vineyards

Pinotage: The Pinotage vineyard is dryland bushvines and 26 years old. The crop of this specific block range between 3 and 4 tons/ha. This is the highest vineyard in the Swartland, about 700m above sea-level.

Cabernet Sauvignon: The vines are 18 years old with drip irrigation and trellised according the Perold trellising system. The production is limited to 4 - 5 tons/ha.

Shiraz: The Shiraz vines are 13 years old with drip irrigation and trellised according the Perold trellising system. Irrigation is again only used if it is necessary. Production is 6-7 tons/ha.
