Bold, dark colour. Palate shows deep plum and spice flavours, with pepper and star anise. Layered style, with hints of violets and dark chocolate. Full bodied with a rich finish.

in the vineyard : The hand picked fruit was harvested from dryland vineyards in the Swartland, with soils of deep red oakleaf and koffieklip. The Shiraz is from a trellised vineyard, while the remaining fruit is from bush vine vineyards. The Grenache is from 55 year old vines.

Winemaker's Comments
This vintage includes a significant Petite Sirah component, adding colour and complexity to the wine. These are the amongst the first Petite Sirah vineyards in South Africa and I am excited about the prospects as the vineyards mature. Charl du Plessis
