in the vineyard : Vines grow in granite and weathered shale soils, allowing for slower ripening to encourage maximum flavour development. The Merlot grapes come from the Paarl area.

about the harvest: The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are of specific clones from vineyards chosen for their low yields of 7-9 tons/ha and slow ripening properties. Harvesting commenced between 24º and 25º Balling.
