Tall Horse Pinotage 2011

Dark red colour with sweet black fruit flavours on the nose. On the palate the wine has soft, sweet tannins with ripe fruit flavours. The wood is well intergrated and gives coffee and chocolate flavours on the nose and palate.

This delightful Pinotage can be enjoyed on its own or with a BBQ steak, lamb stew or something exciting like a Thai red curry, be different and try it with a double thick chocolate fudge cake.

in the vineyard : Grapes were tracked from a variety of macroclimates ranging from warmer Southern slopes basking in long hours of sunlight to cooler pockets of vines where African Ocean breezes ensure ultimate expression of cultivar and land.

about the harvest: 2008 was a hot dry season with a stampede at an ealier than usual harvest time wiht grapes ripening simultaneously. This was a good vintage for redds with excellent colour formation and flaour profiles. Our Cape climate allows the vines to drink in the winter rainfall and ripen slowly in the warm summer season before harvesting in February at an average of 24 Balling.
