The wine has a deep garnet colour in the centre of the glass with a bright ruby red rim. There are intense aromas of five spice, curry leaves, dried herbs and Christmas cake. This is layered with savoury meats and ripe booysen berries, cassis and plums. The palate is full and rich with dark chocolate flavours layered with Christmas cake and ripe fresh prunes. The wine displays immense power but still has a silky finish with a firm acidity.
This wine will pair well with hearty Oxtail stew, Coq au Vin, Osso Bucco and Grilled steaks.
